When I'm exercising I concentrate on breathing and trust that my body will do the rest. This is especially helpful in my Yoga practice. When I stop thinking about my breath I notice my practice becomes more laborious. I'm training my brain to feel this fatigue and draw my attention back to my breath.
Since starting this practice I've noticed my work outs have become easier and more enjoyable. I hope maybe it can help you as well.
